What I dont understand about the guai protocol is how can it be ok to drink coffee but not tea?

Hi welcome to fibro.org smile.gif

I found this on the web, I guess this is what you are talking about smile.gif

QUOTE
Salicylate Avoidance - An important part of guaifenesin treatment is the avoidance of substances called 'salicylates'. Avoidance is necessary as they completely block the action of guaifenesin. Salicylates are produced by all plants and are very high in products that contain concentrated plant extracts. Products to be avoided include aspirin, herbal health supplements and topical products such as cosmetics and deodorants as salicylates are easily absorbed through the skin.

basically I think it means that if you take herbal tea it will stop the meds working due to the increased plant extract
